Sparrow Place will be a community for women in recovery from domestic sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation.
Our program will be modeled after the highly successful residential recovery model of Thistle Farms, TN. They have been loving and healing women survivors of sex trafficking and prostitution for over 20 years. We are excited to join their 60 (& counting!) sister-programs throughout the country.
The VISION of Sparrow Place is that of women growing individually and collectively, while living in community.
We’ll seek to empower women by:
providing a 24 month, rent-free, home environment based on a community living model;
helping Residents live in recovery with an honest and self-sufficient lifestyle;
providing assistance with educational, vocational, and life-skill building opportunities;
fostering self-understanding through personal and spiritual growth;
providing access to medical, dental, vision, and mental health providers;
cultivating money management skills through the use of a budget and savings program; and
offering opportunities to work towards economic self-sufficiency through business partners. We will be working to establish a Sparrow Place social enterprise to employ women in meaningful work, in a safe environment, while providing a fair living wage.
Sparrow Place will NOT a point-of-rescue or emergency shelter. Often, survivors will come from a safe house/transitional program, rehab, prison, or age out of a minors’ facility prior to coming to us. For more information about residents, see Target Population.
